In the Japanese language “Ashi” translates to foot and “Atsu” into pressure. Ashiatsu is a barefoot massage technique in which the therapist delivers deep, broad, consistent pressure while utilizing their feet and body weight.
Working with gravity instead of against it, Ashiatsu therapists are able to provide an effective therapeutic massage without causing pain or discomfort to the client.
Ashi-Thai is an expression of traditional Thai stretches that have been modified utilizing the overhead bar system and the therapist’s body. This flowing and rhythmic approach to Thai massage follows traditional Thai energy lines and utilizes stretches for elongating and relieving tightness in commonly used muscle groups.
Clients usually feel an increased range of motion, less tension, and an overall sense of balance and well-being. Ashi-Thai can easily be incorporated into a regular Ashiatsu session or can be performed as a stand-alone treatment
Ra is trained in advanced levels of Ashiatsu massage and Ashi-Thai through DeepFeet Bar Therapy.
Surgeons often recommend that their patients supplement their recovery with Lymphatic Massage for Plastic Surgery as early as possible, ideally within the first few days after surgery.
Lymphatic drainage can help prevent and alleviate the build-up of fluid that can cause edema (swelling) and prevent seroma.
By optimizing the healthy flow of fluids in the area, the risk of infection is reduced and recovery is enhanced. MLD after surgery promotes healing of bruises and prevents the formation of scar tissue or fibrosis. Decreasing edema, bruising, fibrosis, and scarring improves range of motion and creates an overall decrease in pain.
Post-op lymphatic drainage is important for optimal surgical results. Scar mobilization techniques can be added once the incisions are healed (3-8 weeks post-op) to soften scars and allow them to become less visible.
If fibrosis or adhesions develop after surgery, myofascial release, cupping, and Ashi-Thai therapies may be utilized to heal the scar tissue and release adhesions. Ra is specially trained in post-surgical manual lymph drainage, myofascial release, and scar release techniques, along with Ashi-Thai and cupping.

Myofascial release helps relieve the body of pain and dysfunction associated with fascial distortions, muscle imbalances, and stored physical and emotional trauma.
This type of therapy can help improve joint range of motion, reduce muscle soreness and joint stress, relieve pressure on nerves, and improve neuromuscular efficiency.
Manual lymph drainage helps the lymphatic system remove waste from the body.
This treatment can be especially helpful in recovery any time there is swelling in an area, post-surgical swelling (specifically after cosmetic procedures), pain, and bruising after surgery or injury.
